KEIGHLEY Albion ended their two-game losing streak in the Yorkshire Men’s League Premier Division on Saturday, beating rock-bottom Newsome Panthers 12-4 on home soil.

After an excellent 22-16 win on the opening day at King Cross Park, Albion had suffered back-to-back heavy defeats against Westgate Common and Stanley Rangers.

But Newsome have had a grim start to the season, and Keighley added to that last weekend.

In a low-scoring affair, tries from winger Adam Gaunt and hooker Josh Tenniswood, both converted by Jacob Cox, were enough to secure victory over the visiting Panthers.

The win moves Albion up a place to sixth in the eight-team table, but in a tight league so far, they are one of five sides currently sat on four points.
