The 5k fun run will take place on Sunday, December 10 with runners - or walkers - setting off at 11am from the West Craven Sports Centre, Kelbrook Road, Barnoldswick, and finishing in the town square.

This year it is being organised jointly by Barnoldswick and Earby Rotary Club, and original organiser, Sharon Hurst.

Those wishing to take part can register and collect a Santa suit on Saturday, November 18 at the charity Bosom Friends Centre, Green Street, between 11am and midday, and from 3pm and 4pm. Entry, £10 for adults and £5 for five to 15 year olds. Hundreds of people are expected to take part in the race, there will be no registrations on the day.

A Rotary spokesperson said: "It should be a jolly event whether you run, jog or walk round the 5k route ending at the Rotary Gazebo in the Town Square."

The proceeds from the run will be shared between Bosom Friends and Rotary club charities.
