A ‘QUIRKY’ award-winning pub in North Craven has been put on the market after five memorable years under its current owners.

The OPO Bar, on High Street, Ingleton, has been put up for sale by Rob Blacker-Oaks, who owns the OPO Bar along with his partner Adam Blacker-Oaks.

OPO stands for Old Post Office, as it was indeed the village post office for over 100 years until 2014.

“We’ve been doing this for the last five years,” said Rob. “We’re now ready for the next challenge. It’s time to move on.

“It’s been a great fun. We’ve met a lot of interesting people and enjoyed every minute of it.

“We’ve created a successful community hub in Ingleton.

“It’s a very popular bar withs the locals and visitors. We’re proud of what we’ve created.

“It’s time for someone else to put their stamp on it.

“We’ve prided ourselves on fantastic customer service in a lovely quirky environment.

“A lot of people have told us we’re the best bar they’ve ever been to.

“We’re lucky to be in Ingleton. We’re right at the end of the Ingleton Waterfall Trail.

“On a busy sunny day, we’re the first bar they come to.

“We have a lot of good memories and people will be sad to see us go, but we’ve made some fantastic friends.”

Rob said the OPO Bar is proud of its 5-star Tripadvisor reviews, which he said makes them “number one in the whole of North Yorkshire”.

The OPO Bar, which serves a wide selection of beers and ciders, has been included in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2024 and it won the 'Best Bar / Restaurant of the year' award in the Craven Business Awards 2023.

“Since opening the bar in 2019 it has gone from strength to strength and gained in popularity over the years.

“We now have a huge following of both locals and tourists who come back time and time again, some holiday makers even plan their vacation to Ingleton just to visit the OPO.

“Our bar is often likened to venues in trendy areas in Manchester and London with our quirky and eclectic vibe and our fabulous offerings.”

“It’s been on the market for a few weeks, but it will continue to be business as usual until we sell it.”
