Railway sign in museum

A piece of the Spen Valley's railway history has been placed on public display at a museum in Keighley.

The latest acquisition at the Museum of Rail Travel at Ingrow is a sign from Heckmondwike Spen signal box, which stood between Walkley Lane and the River Spen on the former London and North Western Railway 'Leeds New Line'.

The museum now boasts four items from the Spen Valley, including signalling equipment and an original totem sign.

Items from the museum's collection have been used in more than 50 television and film productions, including Housewife 49, the Forsyte Saga, Sons and Lovers and the Railway Children.
