THE Coniston Hotel has launched its own off-road driving centre after Land Rover moved to Broughton Hall.

The family-owned hotel and country estate has invested in its own fleet of Land Rovers, Range Rovers and Kubota RTV vehicles to replace the previous franchise-run operation.

“We have brought a superb fleet of Land Rover, Range Rover and Kubota RTV vehicles to the Estate," said hotel and estate owner Michael Bannister.

"With the estate already boasting one of the best off-road sites in the north of England, we expect it to be very popular with businesses and tourists alike."

The hotel is the current holder of Welcome to Yorkshire's White Rose Large Hotel of the Year, and has been nominated as a finalist again this year.

The Coniston 4x4 Driving Experience will now be run in-house, along with clay pigeon shooting, archery and falconry.

It is expected to create up to eight new jobs, on top of the 35 with the development of the Coniston Spa, due to open later this year.
