A SKIPTON company is set to expand after winning a contract with one of the leading providers of workers to the NHS.

LMS Recruitment Systems (LMS), a leading provider of recruitment and booking software, has secured a five year contract with NHS Professionals, which provides flexible worker services to the health service.

NHS Professionals will use the web based recruitment and booking platform from LMS to support its business growth plans for medical locums and non-nursing staff groups.

The new contract will see LMS double the size of its team at its head office at the Belle Vue Mills, Broughton Road.

It will provide an off the shelf booking and matching software solution for NHS Professionals., enabling healthcare workers to register for work with their chosen NHS Trust.

LMS will then match available workers to available temporary assignments added by the client.

Implemented for the booking of locum doctors by NHS Professionals, the system is currently being developed to support other areas of the business, including the management of Allied Health Professionals.

LMS is the successor of the highly regarded Locumlist -Locum Manager which was the first cloud based Locum Management Tool to be developed in the sector by directors Peter Gregory and Tracy Ward.

Work on LMS began in 2010 and the system is now in operation at 20 NHS Trusts with more than 80 medical recruitment agencies actively using it to support their clients.

Key to its success has been the system’s modular design which allows businesses to choose which functionality they wish to implement to support their recruitment needs. LMS has also been configured for the education sector to manage the booking of teachers for temporary placements and is being adapted for other recruitment markets.

Tracy Ward, managing director, said: “We are delighted that NHS Professionals has placed its trust in the LMS recruitment platform and are proud to be a software design partner for a project that will ultimately deliver cost and time savings for the NHS. This contract is testament to the hard work and commitment of our dedicated developers and we are now seeking to increase the size of our team in Skipton even further – we are already looking to recruit more software developers to join our busy team and help drive the business forward.”
