Rural businesses in Craven which cannot yet access British Telecom’s standard ADSL broadband service are being asked to get in touch with the Country Land and Business Association (CLA).
Dorothy Fairburn, CLA Yorkshire regional director, said: “There are still many rural businesses that cannot take advantage of broadband internet services, despite the fact that BT claims its ADSL broadband now reaches 99 per cent of homes and businesses.
“As usual it’s the rural population who are missing out and this is wholly unacceptable.
“If rural businesses would like access to affordable broadband but understand it is not available in their area, please contact our regional office with your details.
“Once armed with this information the CLA will do everything in its power, in current talks with BT, to identify the last remaining pockets of broadband unavailability in the region to gauge demand and provide solutions.”
The Yorkshire CLA office is at the Old Toll Booth, Market Place, Easingwold YO61 3AB, telephone 01347 823803, or email info.yorkshire@cla.org.uk.
