A clothing retailer which has an outlet in Skipton is helping protect the Three Peaks district of the Dales.
Yeomans Outdoor Leisure has produced a range of men’s and women’s jackets for the Three Peaks Project, which was launched last year by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority to help pay for the upkeep of the footpath network.
The clothing, which carries the Three Peaks logo, is available in its store in Skipton, as well as in Harrogate, Northallerton, Wigan and Lincoln. Ten per cent of the cost of each garment sold will go directly to the project.
Malcolm Petyt, the YDNPA’s member champion for recreation management, said: “We are very grateful to Yeomans and we hope this will spur on other businesses to become involved and do their bit to protect this beautiful area of the Dales.”
The Three Peaks was found to have the UK’s most severely eroded footpath network in a study by the Institute for Terrestrial Ecology in 1986. For more details about the project, log onto the YDNPA website.
