Top spot goes to Fawcetts with winning pen of ten lambs

KA Fawcett & Sons, of Barden, took top honours at a sale of 1,850 mule gimmers at Pateley Bridge Auction Mart.

The winning pen of 10 lambs was sold to Richard Sandham, of Yeadon, for £190 apiece, while the second placed lambs from BS Simpson, of Heathfield, Pateley Bridge, sold to Tony Binns, of Clint, for £152. WP & B Walker, of Appletreewick, took third place and their lambs sold to Richard Sandham for £152. In the sale of 250 Masham gimmer lambs, first prize was awarded to J Verity and Sons, of Stean, whose lambs sold to Keith Liddle, of Stainburn, for £150, second placed to M&S Harrison, of West End, whose lambs sold to D Shinwell of Derbyshire for £102 and third prize to JAS Church, of Lofthouse, whose lambs sold to N Chantry, of North Hants, for £94.

All animals were sold and prices were up by an average of £12.
