Discover what lurks beneath the river
Creepy crawlies that lurk beneath the surface of the River Wharfe are to be put under the microscope at Bolton Abbey.
The event, aimed at exploring the world of river flies and other aquatic life, has been organised through the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG).
Experts from the Environment Agency and the Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust will be on hand to offer advice.
It will be of particular interest to people connected with rivers, such as anglers, conservationists, riparian owners, or those who just enjoy Dales rivers. There will be a demonstration on how to take a sample from the river and identifying what is in the catch.
The event begins at 6pm on Thursday April 17 at Barden Bridge car park, Bolton Abbey. Everyone is invited and there is no need to book. For further information, contact FWAG on 01609 783632.
The Rivers Trust is also looking for volunteers willing to carry out future river fly monitoring at a variety of sites.
