THESE arresting images were all taken by members of Settle Camera Club and judged in a competition by the Craven Herald's own award-winning photographer, Stephen Garnett.

We offer a warm invitation to any prospective member irrespective of their experience, skill level or specific interest. We have grown from humble beginnings in 2008 to a membership of about 50 today.

Its aim is for every member to develop their photography through a programme of talks, demonstrations, challenges, outings and exhibitions. We are a friendly and supportive group that aims to share expertise with colleagues.

Applicants younger than 16 are welcome to the group subject to written parental permission and must be accompanied by an adult member who will be responsible for them at all meetings and events.

The group meets on the third Monday of the month at Townhead Court, Settle (opposite the medical centre), at 7.30pm.

Additional meetings are held on the first Monday of the month from October to April.

View the ‘Programme‘ section of its website, www.settlephotos.org, for details of up and coming meetings.

The club will be holding its annual exhibition during this month. Our images will be displayed in the windows of local businesses, as a ‘Town Trail’, from today until August 20. A copy of the trail map will available from Settle Tourist Information Centre and is also available as a pdf download.

The exhibition will then be on show at Clapham Village Hall over the Bank Holiday weekend, August 23 to 25, from 11am to 5pm each day.

There is no entrance charge but any voluntary contributions will go to charity. Refreshments, prepared by the ladies of Clapham, will be available during opening hours.
