THE latest Saturday collective livestock sales at Skipton Auction Mart were again extremely well supported, producing strong trading levels.
Stirks were again out in large numbers, with bull stirks selling to highs of £670 for a Galloway and £530 for a British Blue, while steer stirk prices peaked at £760 for a Blue/Grey and £600 for both a British Blue and a Shorthorn, with a black and white also selling well at £520.
By far the pick of the heifer stirks was a Shorthorn at £1,450, followed by an Aberdeen Angus at £700 and a Limousin at £660.
Breeding cattle prices peaked at £2,000 for a Shorthorn cow and calf, with a pedigree Hereford heifer achieving £1,365.
