A NEWLY-FORMED band, inspired by the Andrews Sisters, will entertain at Wigglesworth Village Hall on Saturday.

The Little Sister Band - comprising three female harmonists and four male musicians - have joined the Rural Arts On Tour scheme.

Their show features classic tunes such as Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, alongside jazz arrangements of modern hits like Adele’s Someone Like You and Hot Stuff, which featured in 1997 film, The Full Monty.

“We’re delighted to have picked up Little Sister Band," said On Tour project officer Sophie Backhouse. “They’re a real local gem and set for big things: just a month after we booked our dates, they were picked up for a recording contract.”

Band member Allie Cochlan added: “Being able to tour Yorkshire – the county we live in and love – is a real treat.”

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets costing £10 are available from 01729 840794.
