SEVEN students took part in Skipton Library's first Animation Magic workshop, presented by master animator Virpi Kettu.
The workshop included a brief look at animation history and how the technology has evolved.
The youngsters made about ten short films and tried different stop-motion animation techniques from Pixelation (animation with people) to sculpting plasticine.
Virpi said: "My intention is to make animation accessible to local communities and this is the first in a series of workshops to be hosted in North Yorkshire.
"I am overwhelmed by the support I have received, especially from Craven District Council and the staff at North Yorkshire County Council
Skipton Library."
And she said the event had inspired children from several schools in the area and, as a result of its success, a second workshop would be held at Skipton Library next Saturday, December 6.
Students and adults interested in attending should contact the library on 0845 034 9538 or email skipton.library@northyorks.gov.uk.
Meanwhile, the ten short films and information about future workshops and animation can be found at kettustudios.blogspot.co.uk
