Skipton Town Hall will be awash with ale over the next bank holiday weekend, when the Keighley & Craven branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) hold their second Skipton Beer Festival.

The event promises to be even bigger and better than last year's successful festival, say organisers, with at least 60 different cask-conditioned ales to sample from independent breweries throughout the United Kingdom.

There will also be a selection of traditional draught ciders and perries, bottled German beers, Belgian fruit beers and English fruit wines. Also present will be brewery stands and a CAMRA products stall.

Hot and cold food will be available and a free minibus shuttle service will run between Skipton railway station and the town hall, courtesy of Keighley Community Transport.

The festival will be open from noon to 10pm on Friday May 23 and from 10am to 10pm on Saturday May 24. Admission will cost £2 (free to CAMRA members).

The event will be officially opened by the town mayor at 2pm on the Friday.

But they can organise a beer festival. Long queues, running out of beer - suggests a bit of a success to me.....
