SKIPTON: Skipton Building Society Camerata will continue its chamber music series on Wednesday, March 12. It will play Brahms’ Clarinet Sonata No2 at Skipton Girls’ High School at 7.30pm.

There will be cafe-style seating, with the musicians in the middle of the hall, and admission is £6 at the door.

* Mill Bridge Gallery has launched a new exhibition. Called Changing Seasons, it features photography and sculptures by local artists, guaranteed to brighten winter days. The exhibition runs until Saturday, March 29.

* To mark the end of her stint as artist in residence at the Craven Museum and Gallery, Helen Peyton is creating a unique exhibition.

Helen is putting together a social museum and art (SMART) gallery.

The evolving exhibition aims to involve the public, with them being asked to donate, interpret and create the objects. The exhibition will run until May 26.

SETTLE: Victoria Hall will host three events this weekend.

The fun will start tomorrow, with a dash of calypso courtesy of the Panjumby Jazz Band. It features Dudley Nesbitt, one of the UK’s leading exponents of jazz steel pan, and Richard Ormrod, musical director of Dales Jam and its sibling RamJam.

They will be followed on stage on Saturday by the Mighty Doonans, who are known for their imaginative interpretations of traditional songs and their ability to introduce other genres of music and dance into their programme.

On Sunday, Reg Meuross and John Watterson, aka Fake Thackray, will headline at the Folk at Victoria Hall event, introduced by Mike Harding.

* Botanical artist Sandra Fernandez is exhibiting her work at The Lime Gallery at The Courtyard. Her exhibition, Drawn to Nature, highlights the beauty of the natural world. It will run until Wednesday, March 12.

* There is still chance to catch an exhibition of work by students at Settle College at the Gallery on The Green. In the Eye of the Beholder includes paintings, drawings, textile pieces, scientific information, poems and more. The exhibition will run until Sunday.

AUSTWICK: Austwick Community Players will bring their own brand of comedy to the stage next week.

Their 2014 production, Oil Tek the High Road, has a topical theme with a Caledonian flavour, a Western touch, a hint of Eastern delight and plenty of Yorkshire humour.

The opening night next Thursday is for over 65s in Austwick and Lawkland Parishes. The Players throw open the show to the public next Friday and Saturday.
