SKIPTON: Skipton Building Society Camerata will continue its popular chamber music series on Wednesday. It will play Brahms’ Clarinet Sonata No2 at Skipton Girls’ High School at 7.30pm.

There will be cafe-style seating, with the musicians in the middle of the hall. Admission is £6 at the door.

* Mill Bridge Gallery is staging an exhibition called Changing Seasons. It features photography and sculptures by local artists, guaranteed to brighten winter days. The exhibition runs until Saturday, March 29.

* Nick and Mally Dow will entertain at Skipton Folk Unplugged on Monday. They will tell of Romany life in songs and stories at the Narrowboat pub at 8.30pm.

* Lynne Gibson will lead a journey through culture at the next meeting of Skipton and Wharfedale Decorative and Fine Arts Society. Her talk, Culture and Kitsch: Art and Taste, will look at topical questions such as who decides what constitutes good taste and demystify the likes of classical sculpture and the technicolour work of Fauves. The talk will be held at Skipton Town Hall tonight at 7.30pm.

SETTLE: The energetic Spectacular Spectacular comes to Victoria Hall on Saturday. The cabaret show is a tribute to the Moulin Rouge and is “full of lavish costumes, intoxicating showgirls, high-kicking can can dancers, fast-paced choreography and a journey of love”.

* The work of printmaker Mike Smith is featured in a new exhibition at the Gallery on the Green. His images are based on his own drawings or photographs and he has selected a representative set to show in the phone box art gallery. The exhibition – which opened on Monday – will run until April 26.

* Botanical artist Sandra Fernandez is exhibiting her work at The Lime Gallery at The Courtyard until Wednesday.

Settle Music will hold one of its popular guitar sessions next Friday, March 14. It will take place at Settle Primary School from 7pm to 9pm and the cost is £5.

AUSTWICK: Austwick Community Players are bringing their own brand of comedy to the stage.Their 2014 production, Oil Tek the High Road, has a topical theme with a Caledonian flavour, a Western touch, a hint of Eastern delight and plenty of Yorkshire humour. Tonight’s opening show is for the over 65s and includes a free supper. The Players then give two public performances at the parish hall tomorrow and Saturday to help pay for the over-65s’ evening. BARNOLDSWICK: Duck Egg Theatre will tell the story of the forgotten children of World War Two at the Rainhall Centre tomorrow at 7pm. Part of Spot On Rural Touring’s spring programme, Leave Hitler to Me, Lad follows Brian’s lonely life in a residential school after his friends are reunited with their families following the end of the war but he is left behind. BURNSALL: Singer/songwriter Chris Milner will perform at Burnsall Village Hall on Saturday. It is the latest in a series of concerts to raise money for the hall.

CARLETON: A spring concert will be staged at Carleton Village Hall on Saturday. Musicians Laura Justice (recorders), Laura Robinson (viola) and Rosemary Robinson (spinet) will perform a light-hearted programme of English Baroque masters, including Handel and Williams, as well as works by Bach to celebrate his 300th anniversary year. The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets costing £5 are on sale at Carleton Pharmacy and the Post Office.

FARNHILL: Local theatre school GTS is holding workshop auditions this weekend. It is inviting young people to go along to Farnhill and Kildwick Village Institute on Sunday from noon to 3pm to take part in a workshop, with a view to auditioning for a role in its next show. The group is seeking a licence to stage High School Musical later in the year.

KILDWICK: Phil Cudworth will provide live music at the White Lion, Kildwick, on Sunday between 4pm and 7pm.

LANGCLIFFE: Singer songwriter Chris Bannister will bring his John Denver tribute show to Langcliffe Village Hall tomorrow.
