STEETON Male Voice Choir will share the stage with a choir from Devon next weekend.
They will perform alongside Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir at All Saints' Church, Ilkley, next Saturday, September 13, at 7pm.
Steeton spokesman Eric Parker said: “Both choirs together will bring 146 years tradition of male voice choirs.
“The only way the audience will be able to distinguish the men apart will be their ties – the jackets are almost the same colour.”
The Budleigh Salterton choir celebrated its 40th anniversary in May and singing with the Steeton men will be part of their anniversary tour of Yorkshire.
Mr Parker said the Steeton singers performed with the Budleigh Salterton group during their tour of Devon and Cornwall last summer.
He added: “We also have a common link in Gordon Baxter who left Yorkshire and Steeton Male Voice Choir a few years ago to seek the warmer climate of Devon.
“He still has many friends in Yorkshire and we occasionally welcome Gordon to our Monday practice.”
