SKIPTON student Gill Lambert performed at the Ilkley Literature Festival Fringe on Monday.

With fellow Leeds Trinity University creative writing students Maria Preston and Hannah Stone, she presented An After Dinner’s Sleep - a poetic take on midlife.

Performing as Wholly Trinity, they took their audience on a journey through various stages of life, sharing different perspectives of youth, age and what comes in between. Each presented their own poetry, interspersed with reflections on the influences and inspirations behind their work.

A spokesman for Leeds Trinity said: "It’s a fantastic achievement to secure a slot so early in their writing careers and a great testament to the university’s growing reputation as a centre for creative writing excellence.

"Launched in September 2013, the MA in Creative Writing is distinctive for its strong emphasis on the ‘creative’, as well as the developing the skills needed for students to pursue successful careers as professional writers."
