THE son of well-loved TV presenter Roy Walker will headline at My Newt Comedy at Skipton's Castle Inn on Wednesday.

Phil Walker cut his comedy teeth working the holiday park circuit for the likes of Butlins, before bursting onto the stand-up scene in 2002 and quickly winning the prestigious City Life Comedian of the Year Award at The Comedy Store in Manchester.

Since then he has established himself as one of the most popular headline acts in the country and beyond.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have Phil coming down to Skipton,” said My Newt Comedy promoter and resident MC, Daniel Kennedy. “I first saw him last month and I honestly haven’t laughed so hard in ages – which when you consider I go to an awful lot of comedy nights all over the country is praise indeed.”

The gig starts at 8pm and entry is free, although those interested in attending are advised to reserve a table by contacting landlord Calvin Dow on 01756 796304.
