SKIPTON: Skipton Building Society Camerata will give a special performance as part of the town’s Remembrance weekend on Saturday.

And the programme will feature the world premiere of a specially commissioned concerto for euphonium and orchestra, Lest We Forget, by Thomas Lydon.

Soloist will be Phillippe Schwartz, of Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

lThe Skipton Royal British Legion is organising a “grand concert” as a focus for this year’s Poppy Appeal.

It will take place at Skipton’s Holy Trinity Church on Saturday at 7.30pm and will feature the award-winning Steeton Male Voice Choir, piper and poet Ken Pickles and the Skipton Royal British Legion Band Flutes.

lThe legendary comedian Jimmy Cricket is coming to Skipton.

He will appear at the White Rose Club at an evening devoted to the current president and former presidents on Saturday at 8pm.

lMill Bridge Gallery is staging an exhibition to highlight the work of the Craven RSPCA.

Other Animals features photography and sculpture and invites the visitor to consider the diversity and beauty of the other species who inhabit our world and our relationship with them.

It includes images by guest photographic group Over The Moon and a 1940s image of farmer and calf by Skipton’s Henry Meyer.

The exhibition ends on Saturday, December 20.

lSkipton Folk Unplugged will hold a feature night with Steve Robinson on Monday.

The club meets in the upstairs of the Narrow Boat pub from 8.30pm and everyone is welcome to attend.

SETTLE: The Ribblesdale Area Moving Picture Show (TRAMPS) will show the award-winning film Big Night at Victoria Hall on Monday.

It is about a failing Italian restaurant, run by two brothers who gamble on one special night to try to save the business.

The screening starts at 7.45pm.

lClapham Art Group members Linda Clemence and Liz Smart are holding their ninth annual Art and Coffee event at the Friends Meeting House.

It will be open today from 1pm to 4.30pm and tomorrow and Saturday from 10am to 4.30pm.

lSettle Parish Church will host a concert of classical and romantic organ music next Saturday, November 15.

ARNCLIFFE: A Crocodile Dundee night will be held at Amerdale Hall next Friday, November 14.

It will include a screening of the film, a fancy dress competition, a Crocodile Dundee quiz and refreshments.

BRADLEY: The village film club will show the 1991 comedy drama, The Commitments, on Monday.

Based on a novel by Roddy Doyle, it tells the story of working class Dubliners who form a soul band.

The film starts at 7pm in the school hall and admission is free. Children under 16 should be accompanied.

GARGRAVE: Local group Limited Edition will play in St Andrew’s Church at 7.30pm tomorrow.

Entry is £10 and all the proceeds will be donated to the church funds.

GIGGLESWICK: As part of the Community Cinema season, the family film The Nut Job will be screened at the Richard Whiteley Theatre on Sunday.

The computer-animated film tells the story of an incorrigibly self-serving exiled squirrel who finds himself helping his former park brethren raid a nut store to survive.
