THE Langcliffe Singers will present a choral and literary celebration of all that is Christmassy on Saturday.

Christmas with the Langcliffe Singers will be staged at St Alkelda's Church, Giggleswick, from 7.30pm.

“Come and celebrate Christmas in style,” said a choir spokesman.

There will be readings from popular texts, by such authors as TS Eliot, Alison Utley and Charles Dickens, and carols galore - some well-known ones and some less well-known ones – conducted by musical director Nigel Waugh.

The programme will also feature works by Leighton, Howells, Warlock, Darke, Cornelious and Rutter.

And there will be some solo voices, lots of choral sounds and a chance for audience participation with some congregational carols.

Brian Heaton will accompany the choir on the piano.

There may even be one or two Christmas presents for members of the audience.

Tickets are £10 and are available from Cave and Crag, Settle Music, Bentham Post Office, choir members and on the door. Mulled wine and mince pies will be available at the interval.
