NOSTALGIA is still what it used to be for Sutton’s Green Hut Theatre Company.

It is staging a musical that proved a great success for the group just five years ago.

The company, then known as Sutton Amateurs, staged When The Lights Go On Again to mark the 60th anniversary of war’s end.

This year’s revival of the heart-warming show will mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

When The Lights Go On Again takes a poignant and humorous look back at the days before, during and just after the Second World War and will include 45 songs, including many Vera Lynn hits.

The story centres on a family on the Home Front, with scenes featuring family members on the front line and sketches featuring typical wartime characters.

Starting this month, chorus rehearsals are on Monday evenings and anyone wishing to join in should contact secretary Katrina Knights by emailing kmknights@blueyonder.co.uk or calling 01535 219705.
