SKIPTON: A new work by photographic artist Daniel Shiel is on show at the Mill Bridge Gallery.

Skiptonia with Starlings is a photo-collage made from more than 300 images taken in and around the town of Skipton.

It will run until the end of February.

lA pop-up art exhibition is being staged at High Corn Mill.

Glow Gallery showcases the work of local artists, with originals and prints adorning all the mill walls.

The exhibition will run until the end of January.

lSkipton Folk Unplugged will celebrate Burns Night on Monday.

lAC/DC tribute band, Highway to Hull, is returning to the Cross Keys pub, in Shortbank Road, Skipton, next Friday, January 30.

In its first gig of the year, the band - which is actually from Bradford - will perform top tunes from across the AC/DC era from 8pm.

SETTLE: The Ribblesdale Area Moving Picture Show will show the Hindi film, The Lunchbox, at Victoria Hall on Wednesday at 7.45pm The film - a story of love over a mixed-up lunch delivery - won the Critics Week Viewers Choice Award at the Cannes Film Festival and has been nominated for the Film Not in the English Language category of this year’s British Academy Film Awards.

Admission is £5.

lThe junior section of Settle Amateur Operatic Society is busy preparing for its production of The Wizard of Oz at Victoria Hall on Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27.

Rehearsals take place at the Old Court House, on Station Road, on Mondays at 6.15pm. The group is open to seven to 18 year olds and all are welcome.

lSettle College art students are exhibiting their work at the town’s Gallery on the Green.

This is the second time that pupils have shown their work in the converted phone box and the current exhibition has the theme, Fauvism in the Dales.

The students have adopted a range of different techniques to recreate the use of energetic and intense colours seen in the art works of Fauvist artists such as Van Gogh, Gauguin and Seurat.

The exhibition opened on Saturday and will run until Saturday, March 1.

It tells the story of how Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary tackled the ascent of Mount Everest in 1953.

The screening starts at 7.30pm and admission on the door is £5 for adults and £3 for children.

BARNOLDSWICK: Rolls-Royce Leisure will host its first soul night of the year next Friday, January 30.

Dubbed Barlick’s Big Soul Night, it will feature resident DJ Roman and guest DJ Shaun Fitton.

It will run from 8pm to 1am and admission is £5 on the door.

BRADLEY: Bradley Film Club will show the film, Aladdin, on Monday.

It will be screened in the school hall at 6pm and admission is free although children under 16 should be accompanied. Refreshments will be available to buy.

GISBURN: A ceilidh will be held in the Festival Hall tomorrow.

It will start at 7.30pm and tickets cost £12.50.
