SKIPTON: The Batty Moss Ceilidh Band will play at a fundraising event in aid of Christian Aid on Saturday.

The band will lead an evening of ceilidh music and dancing at St Andrew’s Church, Skipton, from 7.30pm.

Admission is £7.50 for adults, £4 for children and £20 for families.

lDavid Tovey will be guest speaker at tonight's meeting of Skipton and Wharfedale Decorative and Fine Arts Society.

He will give an illustrated talk on Creating a Splash: The St Ives Society of Artists – The First 25 Years.

The meeting will take place in Skipton Town Hall, starting with coffee at 7pm and the lecture at 7.30pm.

lSkipton Girls’ High School will host a Fairtrade film night tomorrow.

The evening will start at 7pm with a screening of Fairtrade Matter, a thought-provoking glimpse into lives at the heart of Fairtrade.

It will be followed at 8pm by The People and The Olive, a documentary about the daily joys and struggles of Palestinian Fairtrade farmers and the American ultra-marathoners who ran across the West Bank planting olive trees and bridging cultures along the way.

Admission is free.

SETTLE: Two singer songwriters, Amy Wadge and Luke Jackson, who are touring together for the first time, will perform at Victoria Hall on Sunday.

Amy is widely regarded as one of the country’s most successful female singer/songwriters, notching up five solo albums, two collaborations, and hundreds of live performances across the globe.

Luke is a rising young roots singer/songwriter from Canterbury who, in 2013, was nominated for both the Horizon Award for Best Emerging Talent and the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.

lThe Gallery on the Green - housed in a former telephone kiosk - is hosting the first exhibition of work by local digital artist Debra Kelday.

She tries to capture the atmosphere, feeling and emotions of her subjects - whether they are landscapes, people or objects - and expresses this in colour, light, texture and shade, as well as by pure creative imagination.

The exhibition will run until April 11.

lSettle Music will hold one of its popular guitar sessions next Friday, March 13.

It will take place at Settle Primary School from 7pm to 9pm and the cost is £5.

AUSTWICK: The Austwick Community Players investigate a local legend in their new show, The Lamb with the Golden Fleece.

It is a story about golden lambs - where local characters and a couple of foreigners combine to try to give bankers their comeuppance.

Public performances will take place in the Austwick Parish Hall tomorrow and Saturday at 7.30pm.

GIGGLESWICK: Community Cinemas will show Walt Disney’s Big Hero 6 at the Richard Whiteley Theatre on Sunday.

It is an action-packed comedy adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax, a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada, after a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo.

The screening starts at 3.30pm.

GRASSINGTON: The next Grassington Movie Night will take place in the Octagon Theatre on Saturday.

Disney’s sing-along version of Frozen will be shown at 4.30pm and the Grand Budapest Hotel at 7.30pm.

HELLIFIELD: An evening of 60s themed entertainment will be staged at the village institute next Friday, March 13.

The Swinging Sixties event will feature local singers and musicians and tickets cost £7.50 for adults and £5 for under 16s. Doors open at 7.15pm.

KETTLEWELL: The Leeds Library Theatre will stage Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads at Kettlewell Village Hall next Friday, March 13.

LINTON-IN-CRAVEN: The Aireborough Gilbert and Sullivan Society will present The Sorcerer in St Michael’s Church, from 7.30pm on Saturday.

SILSDEN: Top covers band Flaming Dragon will perform at an 80s party at Silsden Sports Club on Saturday.

They will play hits from 80s bands The Stranglers, Soft Cell, Duran Duran, Human League, The Clash and Adam Ant.

STEETON: Silsden Band will hold its annual awards evening at Steeton Hall on Tuesday, at 7pm.

SUTTON-IN-CRAVEN: The Ginjammers, an acoustic two-piece with a deep rootsy Americana sound, will perform at a charity concert on Saturday.

They will play at South Craven Baptist Church to help raise money for Save the Children.

Based in West Craven, the Ginjammers comprise Pete and Hazel Rowlands and their music ranges from bluegrass, folk, country, gospel and blues. ​​ Tickets cost £10 - which includes a pie and peas supper - and are available from 01535 636326.
