THE surrealist-inspired work of Peter Harris is to be exhibited at Skipton's Mill Bridge Gallery.

His mixed media collages, Searching for the Marvellous in an Age of Isolation, Fear and Hate, will be unveiled at a preview evening on Saturday.

Based in London in the 1970s, Peter was an active participant in the English Surrealist Group. Today, while in frequent contact with the Leeds Surrealist Group, he works independently. He was a founding member of Blackburn Contemporary Arts.

Using mixed media, collage, photographs and boxes, Peter draws particular inspiration from his love of mountain walks, nature and the outdoors. He also takes strength and passion from his socialist beliefs and in his pursuit of individual freedom and liberty for all.

Coupled with his imagination, he creates surreal worlds where contradiction is absent, desires are fulfilled and freedom, dreams, atheism and the spiritual, science and nature are reconciled.

The exhibition runs until Saturday, April 25.
