SKIPTON: The rich variety of quirky, infuriating and inspiring characters who populate our churches will be brought to life in a heartwarming drama which comes to Skipton on Tuesday.

Adrian Plass and the Church Weekend will be performed at Trinity Methodist Church at 7.15pm.

It is part of a nationwide tour in which Adrian and Bridget Plass and the Searchlight Theatre Company put their observational skills to work.

The tour is also a fundraiser for World Vision, one of the partner charities of the Disasters Emergency Committee.

lRenato Bonaccorsi, who has sung with the likes of The Hollies and Freddie and the Dreamers, will perform on home ground on Saturday.

Renato was brought up in Craven and found fame locally in the 1960s as a member of Craven band The Pezants.

He will perform at the Oddfellows’ Three Links Club at 8pm. Visitors are welcome for a 50p admission fee.

lCraven Museum and Gallery is staging an exhibition about the Magna Carta.

Visitors will be able to see a replica of the Magna Carta, which was given to Skipton as part of the 800th anniversary of its creation.

In addition, a contemporary art exhibition titled The Forest of Possibility will run until June 30.

The exhibition features seven artists - James Aldridge, Claire Brewster, Andrea Mastrovito, Charlotte McGowan-Griffin, Davy and Kristin McGuire, Clare Skill and Justine Smith.

In tandem with the exhibitions, there will be talks from Natasha Howes, curator of the Forest of Possibility, and Susan Broadhead, about Magna Carta, on Monday.

SETTLE: Singer-songwriters Tim Chu and Ian Bailey will perform A Celebration of Simon and Garfunkel at Victoria Hall tomorrow night.

The two men - who are from the North West - will deliver their music in a way that honours the original recordings, without falling into the regular tribute act category.

The concert starts at 8pm.

Next Thursday, June 4, the hall will welcome singer Keith James, who will pay tribute to revered singer-songwriter Nick Drake.

Drake recorded three albums between 1969 and 1972 but was almost entirely unknown when he died in 1974 at the age of 26.

Now, thanks to a massive resurgence of interest, he has become a national treasure and Keith James will recreate his music.

lVisitors to The Museum of North Craven Life have the choice of two exhibitions.

Community Skills tells the story of the potteries in Burton-in-Lonsdale, which were fired up in the mid 18th century and showcases around 60 pots.

The second exhibition, Reality Hits Home, focuses on the First World War and contrasts the frontline experiences of the volunteers with life at home where people were fearful for the first time of enemy attack from the skies.

They are staging a joint exhibition, entitled Click, at the Gallery on the Green - housed in a former phone box. The exhibition will run until June 27.

lThe Lime Gallery at The Courtyard, is staging an exhibition featuring the work of Ilkley-based Laura Wallace and Edinburgh’s Alison Dickson.

Laura’s oils of the Scottish landscape and seascape, her native Yorkshire and flowers show depth and vigour while Alison has a more contemporary style, but with the same thoughtful approach to colour.

The exhibition is open daily until July 6.

AUSTWICK: Local artists and photographers will showcase their work at Austwick Parish Hall next Sunday, June 7, from 10am to noon, Proceeds will go to Daniel Yorath House, the local Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust centre.

BARNOLDSWICK: The last soul night before the summer break will take place at Rolls Royce Leisure tomorrow.

It will run from 8pm to 1am and will feature DJs from Greenlands Soul Club in Preston and Steve Lane from Accrington Soul Club.

Admission is £5 is on door.

BRADLEY: Bradley Film Club will show the film, Paddington, next Thursday, June 4.

It will be screened in the school hall at 5pm and admission is free (children under 16 should be accompanied).

CLAPHAM: Clapham Art Group is staging its 64th annual art exhibition in the village hall.

On show are more than 80 new paintings, using a wide range of materials and a variety of styles.

The exhibition runs until Sunday and is open daily from 11am to 6pm. Admission is 50p.

GARGRAVE: An exhibition of artwork by Gargrave couple John and Margaret Merrell will be held in the village hall on Saturday.

Margaret died in 2010 and John in 2013 and the family have quite a collection of their artwork. The exhibition will be an opportunity to see and purchase some of the work they created over the years.

The exhibition will be open from 10am to 4pm and all proceeds from the artwork will be donated to charity.

GIGGLESWICK: Community Cinemas will screen the film Home at the Richard Whiteley Theatre next Sunday, June 7, from 3.30pm.
