SKIPTON: The Mill Bridge Gallery will unveil is hosting a solo exhibition by Skipton artist Carolyn Hird-Rogers, called Lane and Towpath: The Past's Influence on the Present.
Initially trained as a ceramic designer, Carolyn has developed a digital drawing style and is inspired by the semi-rural environment of Skipton on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
The exhibition - which runs until November 28 - features images taken over a period of time along one particular track, which runs alongside the Leeds and Liverpool canal and was used by monks of centuries past.
* The Three Links Club will hold a ukulele festival next weekend.
Starting next Friday, October 30, it will include performances and workshops, featuring experts Paul Casper and Chris McShane.

SETTLE: The Folly has looked overseas for its latest exhibition.
It is hosting Textil/Juvel: Contemporary Craft from West Sweden.
It features seven leading makers of textiles and jewellery and reveals the rich craft heritage of West Sweden, together with an awareness of the natural world and humans’ impact upon it.
The show is the fourth in the Art Unpacked series of exhibitions from Chrysalis Arts of Gargrave and will run until next Sunday, November 1.
Visitors to The Folly - home of the Museum of North Craven Life - will also be able to view the Community Skills exhibition, which has been running since the spring.
It tells the story of the potteries in Burton-in-Lonsdale, which were fired up in the mid 18th century and showcases around 60 pots from the museum’s collection.
It too runs until next Sunday.

* The Lime Gallery, at The Courtyard, has unveiled its latest exhibition.
Nature’s Elements features a series of photographs featuring Iceland and Greenland by Ross Brown.
The images include dramatic glacial icescapes, aerial photography, landscapes and close studies of the flora and lichens wresting a precarious life from apparently barren terrain.
The exhibition will run until November 6.
* Gavaghan Art has unveiled its winter exhibition.
Now located at Settle Town Hall, the gallery is hosting The Northern Landscape, which showcases paintings and original prints of Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire.
The exhibition features the work of 13 artists - Heather Cook, David Cook, Norma Stephenson, Jacquie Denby, Alan Stones, Janet Swailes, George Melling, Tony Roberts, Rebecca Scott, Chris Rigby, Mike Pert, Milan Ivanic and Katharine Holmes.
The exhibition will run until December 23.
ADDINGHAM: Addingham Drama Group will stage the Dennis Potter classic, Blue Remembered Hills.
The production will include video and other effects.
The play is set during World War Two and is famous for having adults play children.
Performances will take place at the Memorial Hall tonight and tomorrow and next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 29 to 31, at 7.30pm.

ARNCLIFFE: Amerdale Hall will hold a film night next Friday, October 30.
It will screen the family movie, Paddington,at 7pm.

BRADLEY: Bradley Film Club has resumed again after the summer break and is showing a series of Steven Spielberg films.
First up is ET The Extra Terrestrial (PG), which will be screened tonight.
Films are shown in the school hall, starting at 6pm and everyone in the community is welcome. Admission is free.
CARLETON: Carleton's next film night will be held at the village hall on Saturday.
The featured movie will be The Imitation Game, which is based on the real life story of legendary cryptanalyst Alan Turing.
It portrays the nail-biting race against time by Turing and his brilliant team of code-breakers at Britain's top-secret Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War Two.
Doors open at 7pm, with the film starting at 7.30 pm, and tickets cost £4 from the village shop or on the door.
GARGRAVE: Europe's number one western swing quintet, The Swing Commanders, will perform at the village hall for the sixth consecutive year next week.
The “three guys and two gals” play an amazing 15 instruments and will perform western and 40s swing classics.

GRASSINGTON: Grassington Players will stage The Ladykillers at the town hall, from tonight until Saturday.
It is a stage adaptation of the classic Ealing cinema comedy of 1955 featuring a gang of oddball master criminals masquerading as a string quartet while plotting a dastardly crime in the home of their oblivious elderly landlady.
John Anderson takes on the sinister Alec Guinness role of Professor Marcus, with Jane Ellison-Bates cast as the bewildered Mrs Wilberforce, originally played by Katie Johnson.

SILSDEN: Silsden AFC will present Michael Jackson's Halloween Thriller tribute at the town's sports club next Saturday, October 31.
