SKIPTON: Skipton Musical Theatre Company will celebrate its 90th anniversary by performing Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel at the town's Mart Theatre.
The production will also mark the musical's 70th birthday and the Mart Theatre's tenth anniversary.
Dale Chadwick plays the troubled Billy Bigelow, company chairman Helen Procter takes on the role of wilful ingénue Julie Jordan and Pam Normanton - the company's president - returns to the stage as the maternal Nettie Fowler, singing the classic showstopper You'll Never Walk Alone.
The show opens tonight and runs until Saturday, with performances at 7.15pm and a 2.15pm matinee on Saturday.

* The Mill Bridge Gallery has unveiled a solo exhibition by Skipton artist Carolyn Hird-Rogers, called Lane and Towpath: The Past's Influence on the Present.
Initially trained as a ceramic designer, Carolyn has developed a digital drawing style and is inspired by the semi-rural environment of Skipton on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
The exhibition - which runs until November 28 - features images taken over a period of time along one particular track, which runs alongside the Leeds and Liverpool canal.
* The Three Links Club will hold a ukulele festival this weekend.
Starting tomorrow, it will include performances and workshops, featuring experts Paul Casper and Chris McShane.

It is hosting a Halloween event in aid of Cancer Research.

SETTLE: Settle Amateur Operatic Society is treading the boards its latest production, Thoroughly Modern Millie.
The musical is set in New York City in 1922 and offers a mix of humour, intrigue and romance.
And there is even some tap dancing to keep the audience entertained!.”
The title role is played by Molly Summersgill Smith, who is supported by Steve Lawson as chisel-jawed Trevor Graydon and Ann Harding as the flamboyant Muzzy Van Hossmere.
The show is being staged at Victoria Hall until Saturday. Performances are at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
* There are just three days left to catch the current exhibitions at The Folly.
The first exhibition is Textil/Juvel: Contemporary Craft from West Sweden, which features seven leading makers of textiles and jewellery and reveals the rich craft heritage of West Sweden.
The second exhibition is Community Skills, which tells the story of the potteries in Burton-in-Lonsdale, which were fired up in the mid 18th century. It showcases around 60 pots from the museum’s collection.
Both exhibitions run until Sunday.
* The Lime Gallery, at The Courtyard, is hosting an exhibition called Nature’s Elements.
It features a series of photographs featuring Iceland and Greenland by Ross Brown.
The images include dramatic glacial icescapes, aerial photography, landscapes and close studies of the flora and lichens wresting a precarious life from apparently barren terrain.
The exhibition will run until next Friday, November 6.
* Gavaghan Art has unveiled its winter exhibition.
Now located at Settle Town Hall, the gallery is hosting The Northern Landscape, which showcases paintings and original prints of Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire.
The exhibition features the work of 13 artists - Heather Cook, David Cook, Norma Stephenson, Jacquie Denby, Alan Stones, Janet Swailes, George Melling, Tony Roberts, Rebecca Scott, Chris Rigby, Mike Pert, Milan Ivanic and Katharine Holmes.
The exhibition will run until December 23.
ADDINGHAM: Addingham Drama Group is staging the Dennis Potter classic, Blue Remembered Hills.
The production includes video and other effects.
The play is set during World War Two and is famous for having adults play children.
The show opened last week and remaining performances will take place at the Memorial Hall tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at 7.30pm.

GRASSINGTON: The computer-animated family film, The Nut Job, will be screened in The Octagon, Grassington, on Saturday at 4pm.
It is about an exiled squirrel who finds himself helping his former park brethren raid a nut store to survive, but discovers it is also a front for a human gang's bank robbery.
In the evening, The Second Best Marigold Hotel, will be shown at 7.30pm.
It is a comedy drama about the elderly residents of a hotel in India and has a stellar cast, including Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Celia Imrie, Bill Nighy, Richard Gere, Dev Patel, Penelope Wilton, Ronald Pickup, Tina Desia, Diana Hardcastle, Tamsin Greig and David Strathairn.

* A charity that has singing and smiling at its heart will hold its first session in Silsden today.
Golden-Oldies, which was started by West Country musician Grenville Jones eight years ago, will meet at the town's Methodist Church from 2pm until 3pm.
The group is aimed at older people who want to meet others and have a sing. Everyone is welcome to attend.
