JOHN Bradshaw will deliver the next Gigg lecture on the subject of courage and humility.
A former headmaster, he grew up during the civil war in Zimbabwe and on leaving school, he was conscripted into the military where he joined a bomb disposal and anti-landmine unit.
It was during this time that he was caught in a blast, eventually losing his sight.
In his talk, he will discuss his thoughts on courage – particularly as it relates to confronting our inner-selves.
The lecture will be held at Giggleswick School's Richard Whiteley Theatre next Thursday, February 11, at 7pm and tickets are available from giggleswick,org.uk/rwt or call 01729 893180.
