THE story of the world's biggest motorsport disaster will be told at the Craven Arms, Appletreewick.
John Matthews, the producer and co-director of the BBC film Deadliest Crash, will host an exclusive showing of the film next Thursday, February 18, at 7pm.
It recalls the 1955 Le Mans race where a crash caused large fragments of racing car debris to fly into the crowd. Eighty-three spectators and driver Pierre Levegh died and 120 more were injured.
The film was nominated for a Grierson award for Best History Film, the highest accolade in the world for documentaries.
John will give a talk and answer questions as well as showing unseen and unpublished photos taken at the time of the crash. They are not for the faint-hearted.
He will also sign copies of his new book, Grand Prix the Killer Years.
The event is not suitable for children and admission is £10 on the door. For more details, call 01756 720270
