SKIPTON: Soul in the Dales will welcome a very special guest on Saturday.
Jos Bent, a producer with Dutch National Television and the man behind the World Famous Amsterdam Soul Club, will take part in a Northern Soul and Motown Night alongside Keith Fletcher from BBC Radio and Jools Metcalfe and Lawrence Grimshaw from the Harold Soul Club Bradford.
Jos is well known for showing soul footage on two large screens during his DJ sets and is set to wow music lovers in Skipton just a week before he appears at the famous Blackpool Winter Gardens International Soul Festival.
Soul in the Dales will be held in the Clifford Suite of the Black Horse from 7.30pm to 1am (no admission after 11pm). Admission is £5 on the door.
* Craven Museum and Gallery's latest exhibition celebrates 200 years of the Leeds Liverpool Canal.
It features film, photographs, oral history tapes, stories and other items.

* Daniel Shiel will exhibit his latest photographic work, Imagined Urbanscapes, at Mill Bridge Gallery.
The exhibition is described as a psycho-geographical adventure into forgotten and overlooked urban landscapes and wastelands.
Daniel, who lives in Riddlesden, extracts specific details from photographic images, isolates them from their original context and combines them into fresh and unfamiliar landscapes. The resulting structures have a surreal quality.
The exhibition will be previewed tomorrow from 6pm to 8.30pm and will run from Saturday until Saturday, July 16.
* Andy Clarke, a singer and instrumentalist from Devon, will entertain at Skipton Folk Unplugged on Monday.
The club meets at the Narrow Boat pub, on Victoria Street, from 8.30pm and all are welcome.
* The All Star 60s band will perform at a fundraising hog roast at Niffany Farm, Skipton, on Saturday.
The event - which starts at 6pm - will be hosted by Bradford West Rotary Clun and proceeds will go to Sue Ryder's Manorlands Hospice.

SETTLE: Silk paintings by local artist Christine Carradice are showcased in an exhibition at the Gallery on the Green.
Her paintings never have people in them as she prefers to show familiar scenes at the quiet time before people arrive and the day’s activities begin.
Christine, who has lived in Settle for 20 years, has also created a range of pictures and cards, which feature in the exhibition, which runs until Saturday, July 23.
* The Lime Galley at The Courtyard has launched at new exhibition, Nature Through Art.
It showcases the work of artists David and Sarah Cemmick and includes sculptures, original paintings and lino cuts.
* Settle Music will hold another of its guitar sessions tomorrow.
It will take place at Settle Primary School at 7pm and admission is £5. All levels and abilities are welcome.
* A get-together to explore the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical, The Likes of Us - to be performed by Settle Amateur Operatic Society in October - will be held on Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Old Court House on Station Road, Settle. Members and potential members are invited along.
CARLETON: A duo who have been touring the country music scene for many years will be stopping off in Carleton.
Iron Horse Country Music Club will host the brother duo, The Thornhills, at the Carleton Social Club on Saturday.
Doors open at 7.15pm and entrance is £5 on the door.
GARGRAVE: Watercolour art classes start in the village hall annexe today at 10am.
Further sessions will be held on June 16 and 23.
They are aimed at every level of experience from beginners to those who need to perfect their painting techniques.

GIGGLESWICK: Giggleswick-born Sarah Fox, described as one of the leading English sopranos of her generation, will take part in a Last Night of the Proms-style concert celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday at St Alkelda’s Church on Monday at 7pm.
It is part of a new Voices of Craven initiative to encourage community participation.
Other VoC events include a musical evening featuring sopranos Bibi Heal and Alexandra Lowe at The Coniston Hotel, Coniston Cold, on Friday, June 17, at 7pm, a Choral Evensong with the Ripon Cathedral Choir at St Michael’s Church, Kirkby Malham, on Sunday, June 19, at 3.30pm and An Evening of Community Singing with John Bell of the Iona Community at Holy Ascension Church, Settle, on Wednesday, June 22, at 7pm.
But the main event will be Grand Finale Festival Concert at Giggleswick School Chapel on Saturday, June 25, at 5pm.
* Music from 'Across the Pond' will be celebrated at Giggleswick School Chapel on Saturday.
The Lancaster Singers, directed by Duncan Lloyd, will present a programme of accompanied and a cappella music from England, America and Canada.

* Community Cinema will show the film, Dad's Army, at the Richard Whiteley Theatre on Sunday.
Based on the classic TV comedy, it follows the exploits of the Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard after a German spy is reported to be on the loose.
The screening starts at 3.30pm and admission is £5.50.
GLUSBURN: A murder mystery evening will be held at Glusburn Institute on Saturday.
The event, Murder at the Mystery, will start at 6.30pm and tickets costing £8 are available from gicac.org.uk
INGLETON: Blackpool Tower organist John Bowdler will play at a social dance at Ingleborough Community Centre next Saturday, June 18.
