THE LONG-established Craven Accordion Orchestra of Cross Hills is releasing its third CD.

The disc, simply entitled Music, commemorates 25 years of the orchestra developing from a social group to a UK championships prize-winner.

Orchestra spokesman, Harry Hinchcliffe, promised a “cocktail of musical delights”, including items by John Miles, the Florentina March, film music from the Magnificent Seven and Titanic, plus traditional waltzes and tangles.

The orchestra recorded the CD with musical director, Bob Nevin, a brass band veteran, who has played with several European symphony orchestras.

The Craven Accordion Orchestra and Mr Nevin will host an ‘open doors’ event on at Sutton Village Hall at 7.45pm on Tuesday, when they will play tracks on the CD. Copies will be for sale.

People of all ages can try playing the accordion during six weeks of special activities starting in Sutton on July 26.
