ELECTRIC Dreams is a new pop musical which launches today in Sutton.
The village’s Green Hut Theatre Company plans to stage the show next April, and it will feature more than 20 well-known songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
The group will hold its first get-together for the show when the production team will talk about the songs, stories and characters.
Electric Dreams shows what happens after factory worker Ashley Blades and his mates are made redundant and turn their spare-time band into a career.
With a girlfriend urging him to get a proper job and an over-confident friend as a manager, Ashley’s first attempts to find success don’t go all that well.
But trouble really strikes after a talent scout whisks him away with the promise of a solo contract – and Ashley has to choose between fame and friendship.
Anyone interested in joining the chorus for Electric Dreams or auditioning for principal roles should go along on December 1 at 1.30pm to the group’s green hut behind Costcutters, off Main Street, Sutton.
Sutton’s Green Hut Theatre Company will present its pantomime Cinderella at Sutton Village Hall from Wednesday to Saturday, December 7 to 10, at 7.15pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.15pm. Call 01535 632289 to book tickets.
