FUNDRAISING is a continuous task, and Skipton Choral Society is keen to find innovative ways of raising money, while enjoying themselves at the same time.
Their latest venture puts the spotlight on the singers’ feet, instead of their voices.
They have joined forces with the Village Hop Band to provide an evening of English ceilidh dancing at Cracoe Village Hall on Saturday, February 11.
The event, which runs from 7pm to 10pm, is open to all, and will be an opportunity for singers and guests to flex their dancing muscles in an evening of fun and laughter.
The Village Hop Band performs throughout North Yorkshire, with a selection of tuneful tunes and danceable dances. Their instruments include concertina, melodeon, keyboard, trombone and drum.
Caller Barbara Bentley has many years’ experience of running ceilidhs, and she will explain each dance with a run-through before guests have a go.
Tickets cost £10 including supper and are available from Sheila Bloomfield by ringing 01756 751879 or 07933 925875 or emailing treasurer@skiptonchoralsociety.com
Skipton Choral Society's next concert is on April 8 at Christ Church, Skipton. The theme of the evening will be Gloria.
