THE latest production by Settle Amateur Operatic Society’s Junior Group is the classic tale Peter Pan.

Based on the original play by JM Barrie, this new adaptation will entertain audiences at Settle Victoria Hall later this month.

The production team of Pat Harding and Pam Whitehead chose Peter Pan, adapted by David Barrett, as the next vehicle to showcase the talents of the younger members of the group.

With original songs, which the lively youngsters are already singing with great enthusiasm, the show is full of opportunities for the children to display their talent.

Behind the scenes, a team of experienced SAOS members are busy with lighting, set design, costumes, props and the many other tasks that go towards making a musical play magical.

“We want the children to experience a real production. The backstage work is just as important as the performers. The experience will be very special for everyone,” said Pat Harding, the producer.

The other half of the production team, musical director Pam Whitehead, added: “The value of the musical skills and the pleasure the children will get from the music will be life enhancing.”

Tickets are now on sale for two performances at Settle Victoria Hall, which take place at 7pm on Friday, March 23, and Saturday, March 24.

Tickets are available from the box office at Victoria Hall by contacting 01729 825718.

All performance royalties paid by SAOS will go to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
