SKIPTON: Saxophonist Snake Davis will perform at 7.30pm on Friday, May 12, at The Mart Theatre.

Snake, who has worked with some of the world’s biggest acts including Take That, Lisa Stansfield, The Eurythmics, George Michael, Ray Charles, Tom Jones and M People, will perform a myriad of classics and his own solos.

Gloria Delaneuf, who is well-versed in mime, mask and the mysteries of stagecraft, and Josephine Cunningham will present a performance of Gloriator at 7.30pm on Saturday in Skipton Town Hall.

Gloriator is a riotously funny show that reveals just what happens when a glamorous French actress and her hapless assistant stage their version of the Hollywood blockbuster Gladiator.

Tickets cost £8 and £6 for under 18s.

The Northern Opera Group will perform a free mini concert, The Wandering Scholar, at noon on Sunday, May 14, in Skipton Town Hall.

Lasting 30 minutes and inspired by a traditional mummers' play, the opera group will be hotfooting it between North and West Yorkshire venues, offering performances for free and only using set and props that can be carried on their journey.

Skipton Film Club will screen the film I, Daniel Blake at 5.15pm on Sunday in the Plaza Cinema, on Sackville Street.

A short film by local filmmakers will start the evening.

The film is open to everyone and tickets cost £5.50 for film club members and £6.50 for non-members.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host a singers night starting at 8.30pm on Monday at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street. Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne will perform on Monday, May 15.

Drystone Radio will present a full night of live music on Friday, May 26, at the Venue sports and music bar, 3a Cavendish Street, Skipton.

Musicians that will perform on the evening, which runs from 8pm until late, include PAiiGE, Cole LC, Jack City, Trophy, Nelson, DJ Youngy, The Sheratons and Caledonia Road.

SETTLE: Collectors’ Rooms: an exhibition of painting, prints and sculpture will run until May 29 at Gavagan Art gallery in Settle.

The spring exhibition will feature a special display of Raku ceramics by Stephen Murfitt.

Stephen’s work can be seen in the end gallery of Gavagan Art while the central display room features artwork from Cornwall, including examples of work by Terry Frost, Alan Davie and Breon O’ Casey.

Examples of work by other artists and ceramicists will also be displayed in the exhibition.

The gallery in Settle Town Hall is open from 11am to 4pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Bank Holidays.

Moments Captured in Stitch, an exhibition by Cate Holland, will be on display at the Gallery on the Green until May 13.

Local artist and former art teacher Cate takes as her theme for the exhibition the concept of waiting for the release that spring brings after a season of being caged in.

CRAVEN (various locations): Theatre company The Jay Walkers will tour Craven to perform their spring production No Job for a Woman.

The play, written by Jamesine Cundell Walker, was inspired by a trip to Armley Mills Museum at Leeds in 2016 and is a part fact, part fiction show.

Performances will take place at 7.30pm in the Grassington Octagon tomorrow; Cononley Village Institute on Saturday; Skipton Little Theatre on Sunday; Gargrave Village Hall on Friday, May 12; and Skipton Town Hall on Thursday, May 18.

BARNOLDSWICK: Wreckless Eric, an English rock/new wave singer-songwriter, will perform at 7pm tonight in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, 18-22 Rainhall Road.

A performance of The LOST Will and Testament of Jake Thackray by John Watterson will take place at 7pm on Thursday, May 18, at the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre.

CARLETON-IN-CRAVEN: Iron Horse Country Music Club will present a performance by local artist Jim Tracy on Saturday, May 13, at Carleton Social Club.

Jim is from Colne and brings a wealth of traditional country songs which are sure to entertain an audience of listeners and dancers.

CONONLEY: Cononley Cinema Club's next film will be A Street Cat Named Bob, which will be screened on Saturday, June 10. Doors open at 6.30pm and the film will start at 7pm.

GIGGLESWICK: Giggleswick Junior School will give two performances of Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies at 7pm on Thursday, May 11, and Friday, May 12, in the Richard Whiteley Theatre.

GRASSINGTON: Grassington Community Cinema will screen two films on Saturday at the Octagon Theatre in Grassington Town Hall.

Moana for children will be shown at 4.30pm and Sully for adults will be screened at 7.30pm.
