MORE than 30 bands and performers will take to the stage during three days of live music at the Bands On The Square festival in Barnoldswick over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The town square is the venue for the free festival, which is organised by Barnoldswick Town Council and a team of volunteers.

The event, which takes place from Saturday to Monday, features leading bands from around the region and the talent of up and coming music students from Pendle Music Academy.

This year’s BOTS is the fifth outing for the event in Barnoldswick’s town centre. Since its inception, the festival has helped develop young performers and support the town’s busy live music scene.

This year, organisers have expanded the infrastructure supporting the event to include a viewing platform for people in wheelchairs and additional stewards.

Those attending are being asked to donate towards the cost of the event to help ensure it takes place in future. Branded merchandise is also on sale for BOTS 2017.

The music begins at 11.30am on Saturday and Sunday and 11am on Monday. Headliners Suburban Symphony (Saturday) and Fiery Biscuits (Sunday) are set to take to the stage at 9.30/9.45pm with Fandjango closing the festival at 6pm on Monday.
