A CELEBRATION of the Celtic nations will take the form of a concert which will be staged in Settle Victoria Hall at 7.30pm this Saturday.

The concert, called Celtic Journey, is a stage show featuring music, dance and story that celebrates the Celtic nations, their traditions and the international ties that unite them as one in a world of hardship, hope and new beginnings.

Celtic Journey, which will feature performances by the band The Meadows and singer Kristyn Murphy, will included a mixture of ballads, upbeat jigs and humour-filled tales.

“Celtic Journey focuses on the idea of ‘home’ and the ties that bind people together regardless of place or distance between,” said Kristyn. “It is meant to be a celebration of the Celtic cultures, as well as a way to highlight the different cultures and the idea that each is unique.”

Kristyn, who is from Maine, performs both Celtic and Broadway, has been studying music and solo performing since the age of eight.

The Meadows play original works, both sung and instrumental, along with fresh interpretations of folk music from various traditions, predominantly drawn from Celtic culture.

After Celtic Journey's eight concert tour of Great Britain, which concludes in Settle Victoria Hall, they will take their show to other parts of the world, including Ireland, America, Canada and Europe.

Doors to the concert open at 6.45pm and all tickets cost £12.50.

They can be purchased from Settle Victoria Hall in person or by ringing 01729 825718.
