SKIPTON: Skipton Players' newest director, Liam Burnham, is holding auditions at 7.30pm tomorrow for the October play Natural Causes, which will run from October 10 to 14 at Skipton Little Theatre.

The auditions for Natural Causes, a dark comedy by Eric Chappell, will take place at Skipton Little Theatre, on Clifford Street. The cast will feature three males and two females.

All Skipton Little Theatre members and supporters are also reminded that the annual general meeting takes place at 7.30pm on Thursday, September 7.

Skipton Musical Theatre Company, which is currently in production for Sister Act to be performed at the The Mart Theatre from October 26 to 28, is appealing for someone to play the part of TJ.

The theatre company, which has been rehearsing the play since May, is seeking a male, aged 16 to 30 who can sing Db to Eb tenor/baritone, with strong falsetto.

The TJ character, who is Curtis's nephew and one of his thugs, sings the song Lady in the Long Black Dress.

The theatre company rehearses on a Tuesday and Wednesday (though not every week) at the Black Horse in Skipton.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host singers night every Monday throughout August at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street. Start time is 8.30pm.

SETTLE: The exhibitions Back in Settle: Pastimes in Past Times and Settle Captured in Wool will be on display at The Folly until September 24.

The Folly's exhibition 1917: Mud and Misery, which looks at how the lives of the people of North Craven were affected by the Great War in 1917, will be on display until October 29.

Following on from his 2010 exhibition, Canadian photographer Jim des Rivières will display a new collection of moth photographs at the Gallery on the Green in Settle until September 18.

The exhibition includes 28 moth species representing a tiny cross-section of the species found in the immediate locale of the photographer’s home in Ottawa, Canada.

The exhibition Traces of the Fen, by Margaret Uttley, will be on display at Gavagan Art Gallery in Settle until tomorrow

The exhibition, which will feature charcoal drawings and mixed media paintings of the wetlands of Malham Fen, will be from 11am to 4pm Thursdays to Saturdays in Settle Town Hall.

Settle Photographic Group’s annual photo trail will run until Tuesday.

More than 90 framed photos will be on display in shop windows around Settle, and visitors and locals are invited to search for them.

Settle Photographic Group's ninth annual exhibition will take place in Clapham Village Hall over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The exhibition will be held from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, August 26, to Monday, August 28. Entry is free and refreshments are available.

The Curious Gin Club will host The World of Gin Festival which will held from noon to 10pm on Saturday in Settle Victoria Hall.

The Curious Gin Club's aim is to give people the chance to have fun and discover a variety of premium gins, locally produced here in the UK and from around the world.

The event will feature a selection of over 30 different gins and over 20 different tonics/mixers, and there will be live entertainment.

Tickets cost £10.95 and will includes entry to the festival, gin balloon glass (yours to keep), one gin and tonic token, a festival gin guide, £5 donation to Settle Victoria Hall, £2.50 discount for the Curious Gin Club subscription and live entertainment.

The S'MettleFest will be held from 2pm to midnight on Saturday, August 26, in Settle Victoria Hall.

Oliver/Dawson Saxon, featuring founding members of the legendary Saxon, Graham Oliver and Steve Dawson, will headline the one-day heavy metal festival over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Kicking off at 2pm, the full day of metal will include Dizzy Lizzy (Thin Lizzy tribute), Sabotage (Black Sabbath tribute), Hysteria (Def Leppard tribute) and Slade UK.

All tickets cost £25.

Irish country singer Eddie Carey and his Band will perform at 8pm on Monday, August 28, in Settle Victoria Hall.

Born in 1990, Eddie, a native of County Limerick who performed his first country gig at the age of six, is influenced by American country artists George Jones, Gene Watson and the late Gene Stuart.

Doors open at 7.15pm and all tickets cost £10.50.

BARNOLDSWICK: The Gathering MK II, which features the musicians Simon Hough (Big Country), Ken Nicol (Steeleye Span), Matt Pegg (Procol Harum) and Paul Burgess (10cc), will perform a free concert at 7.30pm on Wednesday, August 23, in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, 18-22 Rainhall Road.

As admission is free to this concert, please come early to avoid disappointment.

Blues Hall of Fame legend Norman Beaker and His Amazing Band will perform in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre at 7.30pm on Friday, September 1.

Though Norman, who is from Manchester, is known primarily as a bluesman, he also performs jazz, rock, pop and R&B.

KELBROOK: The 19th annual Kelbrook Art Exhibition will be held over the August Bank Holiday weekend in Kelbrook Village Hall.

Homemade refreshments will be served in a modern tea room and terrace and there will be many varied and reasonably priced pieces of artwork on display.
