A BAND of local lads from West Craven is having its music aired around the world.
Dead End Monday, which is made of lead guitarist / backing vocalist Phil Nicholson of Skipton (formerly Barnoldswick), lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Rob Humphreys of Barnoldswick, bassist Scott Barwell of Earby and drummer Jack Marsden of Colne.
The band released its debut album Hey! in May, which features the songs Ain't Gonna Happen, Mesmerised, Head Held High, Staring Down the Tracks, In the Water, Mask, Jimmy Fortune, State of Mind and Hey!
Phil said the band, which formed in the spring of 2015, plays an uplifting melodic rock style.
He also explained how the group came up with the band's catchy name, saying: "Dead End Monday came from the idea that on Sunday night people will be having to get up on Monday morning and do that job that they don't want to be doing."
Phil says the band, better known as DEM, shoulder the responsibility of lifting up the people who struggle in everyday life, and tunes on the new album, such as Head Held High and Hey!, are a testament to that.
DEM has caught the interest of and been played at radio stations in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
All of their songs have also been played by Drystone Radio, based at Cowling.
