THE Rainhall Centre in Barnoldswick will hold its first ever Day of Dance from 10am to 8pm on Saturday, September 2.

The centre is working with local dance companies, such as Imogen Gibson School or Dance and Partners Dance Company, and national dance companies to bring people a full programme of different ways to experience dance.

There will be children’s and adult ballet classes, theatrical dancing, African dancing and several types of Indian dancing, such as storytelling by dance and Bollywood, Bhangra.

There will also be circle dancing to world music, which is similar to village dancing in places such as Greece and Romania.

To round out the day, the centre will host an early evening Latin and Ballroom dancing session.

All sessions will run for approximately 45 minutes and are free, as Pendle Borough Council's West Craven Area Committee awarded a grant of £300 to cover the cost of the event.

Sessions will be on a first come first serve basis.

Organisers are hoping to accommodate everyone; however people will be asked to requeue if they wish to participate in more than one session.
