SKIPTON Film Club and the Plaza Cinema will present a special late night presentation of John Carpenter's classic horror film Halloween on Friday, October 27.

The late night screening of the 1978 Halloween-themed film will take place at 10.45pm on Friday, October 27, at the Plaza Cinema, on Sackville Street.

Skipton Film Club member Paul Valentine said: "We are thrilled to be showing Carpenter’s film to celebrate Halloween – it’s a classic of its kind that still makes an audience jump out of its seat and repays repeated viewings by all fans of the genre.

"It's the film that made a star of Jamie Lee Curtis and provided Donald Pleasance with one of his most effective roles. "Famously, it provided horror fans with a new, iconic monster in the shape of one Michael Myers.

"The event will also offer the opportunity for those of us who like to dress up on an evening to come as the monster/horror icon of your choice – as fancy dress is an optional extra for the event. There might be a prize for the best ‘Gruesome twosome’ on the night."
