SKIPTON Players will stage Inspector Drake and the Black Widow from June 12 to 16 at Skipton Little Theatre.

The comedy by David Tristram begins when oil tycoon John Johnson is found with a huge sword in his back.

Although it looks like a straightforward case of dying illegally, things in Drake’s world are never as they seem. Why was Johnson badly disguised as his own wife?

For once, Sergeant Plod thinks he knows all the answers because he relates the events through a series of flashbacks. But if Plod is right, the legendary Inspector Drake is about to make a terrible mistake.

Doors open at 7pm and the play starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for students and children.
