THE Swing’s the Thing for Clare Teal and her Big Mini Big Band when they bring their latest tour to Leeds.

That is the title of the show by the Kildwick-born jazz queen on Saturday, June 30, at Leeds Town Hall when she and her nine-piece ensemble play the best of the Great American Songbook.

Clare promises an evening of inspired music and unbridled entertainment, coupled with warm witty storytelling.

There will be standards from the grand masters of the Great American Songbook from Cole Porter and Rodgers and Hart and 50s and 60s tunes by Cy Coleman, Carolyn Leigh and Dave Brubeck.

Clare has built her ensemble to demonstrate the thrill and power of the big band age. The band is said to be a great backdrop for Clare to communicate her songbook of ballads, blues, swing and Latin tunes.

The songs include Cry Me A River, Take Five, What Is This Thing Called Love, I Wish You Love, I’ll Take Romance and It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing.
