LANGCLIFFE Singers will set sail in HMS Pinafore for a concert performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s much-loved operetta.

This light-hearted entertainment for a summer evening will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday, July 14, in Settle Victoria Hall.

This tale of the love triangle between Josephine, Ralph Rackstraw and Sir Joseph Porter KCB (attended by his sisters, cousins and aunts! involves mistaken identities, the class divide and an attempted elopement before ‘love levels all ranks’ leading to a triumphant happy ending.

HMS Pinafore is one of the most popular of the Savoy operas, with many familiar songs and choruses.

Soloists will come from within the choir and the performance will be conducted by musical director, Nigel Waugh, with music by accompanist Brian Heaton.

Seating will be cabaret-style at tables in the hall, plus normal balcony seating.
