The 13th annual Art in the Pen will be held on Saturday, August 11, and Sunday, August 12, at Skipton Auction Mart.

This year the auction mart will be host nearly 200 local and national artists and craft makers showcasing their work.

Entry costs £5 and opening times are from 10am to 5.30pm on the Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on the Sunday.

Lost in the Landscape, an exhibition of digital collage and mono prints by Carolyn Hird-Rogers, will be on display at the Mill Bridge Gallery until Saturday, August 11.

Then in the evening, Skipton Camerata, will perform the concert Music and Time which focuses on Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony, at 7.30pm tomorrow in Skipton Town Hall.

The concert will feature a multimedia dramatisation of the story and events behind Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony using diaries, letters, prose and poetry, documentary films and posters of the time illustrated with live musical extracts, followed by the symphony’s performance.

The exhibition by Paul Miller will explore Skipton Town Hall itself, using sound, paintings, video and projection mapping as an installation.

SETTLE: The official launch of Settle Folk Gathering Compilation CD, which will raise funds for this year’s for this year’s Settle Folk Gathering, will be held at 7.30pm tonight in Settle Victoria Hall.

Ashton Theatre Group will perform How to Get a Baby at 7.30pm on Sunday and Lempen Puppet Theatre will present Cardboard Carnival at 2.30pm on Wednesday.

Mr and Mrs Brilliant’s SoundWave will then play music for the soul at 7.30pm on Thursday, July 26, and Friday, July 28, and screenings of violinist Andre Rieu’s Amore: Live from Maastricht concert will be shown at 7pm on Saturday, July 28, and Sunday, July 29.

The National Youth Training Choir, which features singers aged 13 to 18, will perform a free pop-up concert at noon on Friday, August 3, in Settle Market Place.

The choir will then give a performance at 3pm on Saturday, August 4, at the Richard Whiteley Theatre in Giggleswick.

The summer exhibition Cornucopia will be on display until Saturday, August 24, at Gavagan Art in Settle Town Hall.

The exhibition feature prints and ceramics by London-based Charlotte Hodes, figurative paintings by Cornish-based artist Richard Tuff, lithographs by Karolina Larusdottir and William Clayton’s trompe-l’œil oil painting.

Knitted Settle, an exhibition of knitted pictures of buildings in Settle, will be on display at The Folly until December 22.
