THE recently reopened The Railway pub in Skipton is hosting a Fizz and Food Festival to raise money for two charities; Manorlands and The Alzheimer's Society.

This Saturday landlady Carol Boothman and her team will present a tropical-themed afternoon and evening of food and drink.

Throughout the day there will be fundraising activities including a raffle and blind gin-tasting.

There will also be live music from local artists Santa Sorbo at 2.30pm and the Martin Conner at 8pm.

A special menu featuring cocktails and a large range of different fizzes will be served between noon and 10pm.

The cocktails have been developed by the staff at The Railway and include tipples such as Forget Me Not and Taste of the Tropics.

The kitchen will be serving a street-food inspired menu.

"Most people in Skipton know someone who has benefited from the vital work that Manorlands do for our local community, so it felt right to raise money for the hospice during the festival," said Carol, who opened The Railway in May after nine months of renovations. "My dad suffers from dementia and while caring for him my whole family has been extremely grateful for the work of the Alzheimer's Society. We'll be passing out donation buckets during the day and will divide all the money we raise between the charities equally."

The Fizz and Food Festival on Saturday will run from noon to 10pm.
