Skipton:

Theatre-goers can see the culmination of a drama workshop at the Mart Theatre tonight (Friday). The theatre and Angel Performance Arts have spent this week working with youngsters on an alternative version of the pantomime, Cinderella. The finished show will be staged at 7pm and admission is free.

The Red Ladder Theatre Company makes its first visit to the Mart Theatre on Thursday, at 7.30pm. It will perform Forgotten Things, described as “a dark comic play designed for cross-generational audiences, fusing puppetry and surreal style”.

* Skipton Camerata performs Mozart’s Requiem at Holy Trinity Church tomorrow (Saturday). The musicians will be joined by the Leeds University Liturgical Choir and soloists Sarah Estill, Hannah Mason, Stephen Brown and John Cunningham. The concert, which will be repeated at St Peter’s Cathedral, Lancaster, on Sunday, starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available by ringing 01756 707606.

* Skipton Music’s next concert is on Tuesday, November 11, and will feature the Endillion String Quartet. Violinists Andrew Watkinson and Ralph de Souza, viola player Garfield Jackson and cellist David Waterman will play works by Haydn, Bartok and Dvorak. Settle:

Settle Amateur Operatic Society’s Oliver! continues at the Victoria Theatre until tomorrow (Saturday). Shows start at 7.30pm with a matinee at 2.30pm tomorrow. Tickets cost £7.50 and £6.50 with concessions for children and senior citizens.

* As part of its Aspire and Renew Appeal, Settle Parish Church is hosting an “Autumn Leaves” concert tonight (Friday) at 7.30pm. It will feature Val Baulard, Gill Allen and Brian Lancaster and admission is £6 (£4 concessions).

Bolton Abbey:

The Strid Wood Exhibition Centre is hosting an exhibition by Ilkley artist Nigel Overton. The first one-man show to be held at the centre, it features landscapes and architecture from Wharfedale and the Bolton Abbey estate.

Burnsall:

This year’s pantomime is Mother Goose – and the first rehearsals take place on Thursday. The children’s chorus will be first on stage at 6pm, followed by an adults’ read through and casting at 7.30pm. All rehearsals will be in Burnsall Village Hall. Eldroth:

Thornton-in-Lonsdale:

St Oswald’s Church is holding “a musical antidote to Hallowe’en” tonight (Friday) at 7pm. Anthony Smith, a member of the Royal School of Church Music, will play popular organ music, interspersed with commentary. There will be refreshments to follow and a photographic display of the church’s “Faulty Tower”. The collection is in aid of the £17,000 Tower Appeal.

Tosside:

Crysis Live Band will be in action at the community hall tomorrow (Saturday). It will perform cover songs from bands such has U2 and Bon Jovi from 8pm.
