Grassington Players seek singers for new show

10:40am Friday 22nd January 2010

Grassington Players are looking for singers for their spring production, Follow the Fleece.

Originally written for the Yorkshire folk choir Baccapella, Follow the Fleece tells the story of Dales sheep farming and how Bradford became world-famous in the woollen industry. From medieval times through the industrial revolution to the present day, the tale is told through song and narrative.

The players need extra singers to swell their usual numbers – especially men – and anyone with previous experience of singing with a choir.

Rehearsal nights will be on Thursdays in January and February, with Mondays added nearer to the performance dates of April 22 to 24.

Musical director is Ed Williams, a professional music teacher and the man behind many musical productions in Burnsall, as well as Grassington Players’ own Dickensian Christmas shows and the acclaimed production of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible last year.

Interested singers are invited to attend rehearsals on Thursdays in the Games Room at Grassington Town Hall. For more information, call 01756 751944 or email jane@manifestmarketing.co.uk for a copy of the script.
